The Pune International Film Festival offers a contemporary and liberal platform for the filmmakers of the world to exhibit the excellence of the film art. The aim of the Festival is mainly to contribute to the understanding and appreciation of cultures of different nations while presenting the complex human situations of the rapidly changing world in the globalized era.
The program of the Festival will be divided into the following broad categories:
Competition: World Cinema & Marathi Cinema (Feature Films Only)
Non-Competition: Cinema of the World
(a) Retrospectives, Tributes, Focus.
(b) Indian Cinema.
*Best Film in World Cinema:around $20,000 (Rs.10, 00,000/-) (to be given to the Producer of the film):
*Best Director’s Award: A cash prize of around $ 10,000 (Rs. 5,00,000/-)
*Best Marathi Film: A cash prize of Rs. 5,00,000 (to be equally divided between producer and director of the film).
